60D should be decent for what you want to do, and it's pretty quick at 6 frames/second.
ISO will be better then what the t1i currently does, so you're already better off there.
i think the auto focus is supposed to be better too, i haven't played with my friends 60D enough to say for certain though, i think you'd be more then happy with it.
it's much more controlable then a T1i or T2i or anything below, so it definitely gets a thumbs up from me.
