I was originally a Hondaphile as well. Previously owned a '00 GSR with minor upgrades (JDM ITR 4-1 header, tanabe exhaust, high flow cat, Spoon intake). It was sad when a tow truck ran a red and totaled my car.
Anyway, after that I picked up a 5 speed E46 325i and fell in love with RWD. BMW's pedals are so nicely arranged, making it very easy to heel toe (or big two little toe in BMW's case). The steering feedback and handling was more enjoyable compared to the Integra.
This past weekend I picked up my CPO '08 E92 M3 (6 speed of course) with the gorgeous carbon fiber roof and M dynamic mode. I can go forever about this car, but all I can say is that it is amazing. I see the low mpg as a little premium for the sheer driving pleasure it gives. You'll love it-
EDIT: See that you got the car already
