Just realized you were the OP, aes2dais. IMHO, forget both the 325i and E46 M3 and get a new E92 or E93 M3.
I don't know your situation exactly, but whatever you spend a month on both those rides, the E9X M3 won't possibly come anywhere near that. Drive you E46 daily for a month - you'll see its not a problem at all. E9X will be no worse, IMHO.
