I have an RS4, and I've ridden in a new M3. Haven't driven one but regardless, the same guy that designed the 4.0 V8 designed the Audi's 4.2 V8. Of course they won't feel the same, does a Benz feel like an Audi? Does a Caddy feel like a BMW? and about the "peppy"-ness off the line and such, read the prior torque/rpm/gearing posts, and don't forget 8 individual throttle bodies on the M3...
Don't knock the RS4 for what it is, it has been on the road for over a year and a half and is still amazing. The new M3 is spectacular, as it should be. So why are we still predominantly arguing which is better? 2dr RWD/ 4dr AWD?? really?
I mean the differences between these cars make them such polar opposites in my mind, only the engines and market aiming are alike.
