You mentioned $/mi and I have to say the PSS are the way to go. I am on my second set of rear Nitto Invos and getting to replace them all now with the Mich PSS as they are just a few hundred dollars more than the Invos (which weren't a bad tire at all) its just they don't last as long as the Mich PSSs and when you factor this in the Mich PSS are a good deal.

However, any of the tire manufacturers mentioned make a reputable tire. What sizes do you want to run?

Also, the Vredstein are pretty inexpensive..don't know how much cheaper you can go.
