If BMW sells an X1, X3, X4, and X5 - how can this make sense?

are 3 4 or 5 on the same platform?

Its not I don't believe it can make money, I just don't see how, enlighten me BMW talk strategy with us.
X3 and X4 will be the same platform, both much bigger than the X1 which is really just a 1 series wagon. X5 and X6 on the next platform up, a little bigger but nicer options and more upscale... Sure there is a market for the X4, I am it, Would love the X6 but its too expensive, love the styling, only need X3 size wise, so X4 would be perfect, of course they are talking away a sale of a X3 but I am sure the X4 will put a few thousand more profit in their pocket, in the end BMW always keeps making more money... Good company strategy.
