I don't think the volume changed much at all. A little louder but not in an annoying way. No additional bass. It gets more interesting, more melodic. That said, I can't figure out what in the exhaust is changing! it's pretty straight through... maybe the packing moves around. Beats me, but it certainly sounds pretty good, as long as you keep a stock x pipe.
