I bought an e93 used so not sure if the previous owner learned to drive stick on the car or what but mine failed at 45k. The way mine failed was a real hazard too. The clutch stayed on the floor and when pushing the start button the car started to "drive itself" moving forward without me putting on the gas! I was lucky not to hit the pole I was parked in front of. Pulled the petal up by hand and then let the car sit a while and was able to get it on the tow truck.

I too found out about the flywheel replacement req at this time. I think it cost me a little under three grand to replace clutch and flywheel at a local Indy shop.
