This is to safe money, and increase their profits. Not to make a better handling car.

Talking about reduced chasis stiffness, and you can almost bet the components used for suspensions are "recycled" from other models.

BMW is going to do the exact same thing. BMWs next generation platform is called 35up. What it basicly means is that everything from the 3-series/5-series and up will be based on this shared super platform.
