Personally I find it odd that rather than take it to a shop immediately you join a forum and start 2 posts, one about glitter and the other about Techron, and resurrect a 3rd about metal in an oil filter. Were it me I would have stopped driving the car, had it towed to a shop and had them inspect the engine for issues. Being your only car would seem to make it even more imperative that you don't destroy it by continuing to drive it. They rent cars you know. In any case, good luck.
