I would honestly keep your M3 and look for something else. Porsche GT3? Lamborghini Gallardo? Ferrari F430? Audi R8? The next step (if moving up) for any M3 driver should be one of those cars. I would also include an Aston Martin Vanquish. I was just looking at one. Very nice car. I am a former Nissan owner and will never go back to a Nissan. They have really nothing to offer me anymore, thus jumping ship in my 20s from Nissan.
