First off even adding a set of HFC in the primary position may still give you a CEL. Something along the Fabspeed setup can work with 02 extenders but even then its a crap shoot if you get a CEL or not. Problem with adding HFC in the primary position is that they still will hang below the bottom of the car and scrape on bad speedbumps, etc. Adding resonators is no issue. I did this with a Riss Racing Xpipe I had (sold it, similar to the Fapspeed setup and it rubbed on speedbumps and such) and it removed most of the rasp.

If you really want to be emission compliant put the stock xpipe back on...
