The reason behind it was....economy was bad, doctors and researchers are bored....so they picked on the bar code....

aw geez....in the past 60 years of Formula 1 and motor racing....tobacco sponsorship makes the team well funded and able to push their development. I rather see a tobacco sponsor rather than Burger King on a white Sauber car....
and no...looking at the bar code....or even direct tobacco sponsor doesn't make me wanna smoke at all....i personally hate smoking....but i could care less if they sponsor or not....people choose to smoke...not the tobacco put a gun to their head and force them to.....
