Another thing is that the SM might say one thing when there is nothing wrong with your car and another if there is something seriously wrong. Unless you get it in writing, spoken stuff has very little value when a conflict does arise.

if they void your warranty because of an aftermarket part but they can't prove it caused the problem then they are breaking the law, in which case you should take them to court.
Magnusson-Moss Act
If you have an aftermarket exhaust and one of your struts fail, they can not void your suspension warranty because of the exhaust (unless you managed to damage the strut somehow during installation, etc)
