Generally speaking, the top of the line detectors include the V1 and the Escort 9500ci and Redline.

The 9500ci is a remote mount unit with laser jammers included. It is very sensitive and an excellent performer.

The Redline and V1 are both windshield mount. The Redline is more sensitive than the V1 and has better "peripheral vision" so to speak. However the V1 is still very sensitive. But in addition it has the directional arrows, better ramp-up in alerting and is much faster at acquiring a signal. The V1 is also more sensitive to laser and cheaper than the RL. The performance of the 9500ci is on par with that of the RL and V1.

The two Escort models are undetectable by radar detector detectors. The V1 is not. This is important if you drive in VA or DC or are a commercial driver.

In addition, the Bel STi-R+ is a remote mount detector very similar to the 9500ci but without jammer. It is also very sensitive, stealthy and has options to tailor it to your environment making it a stellar performer. (BTW Escort owns Bel)

These 4 detectors are the high end. There are other good detectors, but these 4 lead the pack.

Cheers.
