I don't believe psychiatrists will diagnose a mental disability and prescribe medication without continuing counsel. I think there is a larger issue of physicians prescribing psychoactive compounds and sending the patient on their way. I have experienced this myself - ignorantly trusting a qualified professional stepping out of their "realm" if you will, and predictably without success.
