I did this mod over the course of 3-days. I had the same problem as most folks here, where the boot did not clip back in. I also have a pointy corner at the lower left corner (my poor glueing technique), that I've been able to round out since installation. Neither of these are a major deal for me though. I purchased the F10 knob from Morristown BMW on eBay.
