Bro...its still good, as long as your MCATs are good, and grades are excellent. Like I said....lower among the UC system (tough competition!). There are ALOT of other institutions out there, that are traditionally not strong at all. Plus there are tons of out of state individuals all wanting to come to CA.
So, you still have a shot....just make sure you look at a WIDE range of med schools when it comes time to apply....in particular, look into the out of state programs to improve your chances.
I know...the system sucks, but its just the way it is. Best of luck.
