Yeah, misinformation. Considering there are dealers and even BMW CCA sanctioned track events out there, I'd imagine that the occasional track visit would not warrant triggering the abuse clause of the warranty.
And even if it did, how would they know if you tracked your car anyway?
Unless you crash at the track (which brings a whole new set of problems) no one is really going to know you've been there.
