Yes, according to LMB, HRE has placed a fair amount of material in barrels and flanges (I believe) to increase resistance to bending. It's really a good thing as a pound or 2 per wheel doesn't mean much on the street compared to having wheels that stay round. Here is the lnk to LMB's comments on HRE weight:
