Correct. You need to remove the dust seals, pistons, crossover tube, and bleeders. Cover all of the openings and bridge bolt timecerts. You can even take out the big bolts and split the caliper apart and then powder coat. Its all in the prep work.
Saying that powdercoating stoptechs will cause them to fail is plain false (not saying that anyone here claimed that
). A powdercoating job with terrible prep work CAN cause issues.
