If you daily drive in city, you may prefer 8500xi because of how it autolearns the signals and figures out which ones are false alarms after driving past the same signal a few times (roughly 3x). You'll have a quieter ride and won't have the pesky thing going off all the time. It sometimes gets embarrassing when it goes off in the car with passengers.
