He's just yanking your chain. The E90 M3 hood don't have the logo, whereas the E92/93 hoods do, and a while back there were jokes that it was because the E90 wasn't a "real" M3.
Anyway, glad you're getting it fixed. Just drive the car and you'll forget about it all.
