You need to think in terms of cost of ownership. The cost of a used car is way too high right now, making a new car really the best way to go considering the full warranty and full 4 years' maintenance. The 2011 car is a stripper - selling that car will be downright impossible. Trade in value will be crap. No reason to gouge someone on a trade, unless you have an over inflated idea of what you think your car is worth. The reason they want to deal on the 2011 is that no one will buy it. Check the production date of that car and see how long the dealer has had it. If you're going in for so much money, it is the pick to go for the 2011 and get the Competition Package. A great option and it will add to the resale value of the car because it is different from every other model year. Good luck and hope you score the upgrade.
You make some good points... The 2011 would be a lease, while the 2010 would be a finance.
