Perhaps he could have described his reasoning a little differently - I would say that the M3 is just as capable of very high performance as those other cars but is much better as a comfortable and practical touring car or daily driver than the GTR he was driving. The E36, E46, and E9X M3s have all shared that admirable quality of great performance and everyday practicality. The only thing that really bothered me about mine was the poor fuel mileage combined with the smallish gas tank meant frequent fuel stops.
