I'd vote a 350z. Possibly with the HR engine. If he doesn't have stuff to move around every now and then, then the 350z will be a good choice.
I test rode (friend drove) a BRZ, it wasn't all that. The car can handle, but who really pushes a car to the limits other than at a track. It's passing power isn't all too great.
