I've seen a LUX/EAS or someones comparison to emitted heat energy from the various options. I'm guessing you've probably seen it as well, I'll see if I can find it.

You are correct, here's the picture you are referring to:
LEDs are nowhere in the ballpark of the heat ranges by Halogen/HID.
