Most revmatching on daily driving downshifts is just mechanical masturbation done by young guys who want to feel like race car drivers and feel superior about their driving skills, but not actually
doing anything beneficial.
My car can make 5 more hp on premium fuel, but unless I'm on the track, it's not necessary and won't make a bit of difference.
