Update #2: I have a couple hundred miles on the car now since installing, including driving in the rain. I checked to see if there was much more dust, etc. in the engine bay. Short answer is: not really.
When I installed, I also wiped down the engine bay pretty good and applied a silicone-based protectant, so those surfaces did not collect much dust at all.
Going back to the noise increases, I will say you do really notice when you lay into the throttle. I like it. Not as smooth and nice-sounding as a carbon intake though.
Only downside is driving at low speeds you do get more general engine bay noise, but it is a small increase.
No increase in wind noise from this mod.
