It just sounds like a 1-off issue to me. BMW will probably replace the engine so long as they determine it was not caused by an aftermarket part or some tune messing up the A/F ratio.

What I meant was that the car is obvioulsy not stock as it runs speeds in excess of 300 kmh.
Even though the mods may seem to be light, they do spoil the fragile balance of the M engine, which is anyway kinda near limit in stock specification...this combined with some factory defects may result in a blown engine at 60k miles rather than at 200k miles.
I wish OP every luck in getting this sorted out...if he's well connected to BMW it may be easier; worst case scenario a second hand M3 engine might be found at around 10k euro.
