why don't you just put the sub out to the side? whichever side has less foot traffic. that'll suffice. sound bar if you must, but since you have room to work with, i'd go for a bit more of a 'traditional' setup myself. put a couple bookshelf speakers on each side of the tv, good low profile center channel speaker, and sink a couple in-ceilings for the surround sound. i really like atlantic technology for a 'cheaper' speaker. they make some insane stuff, but their budget speakers are pretty freakin' good. i have a few atlantic technology ICTS-6.1-IP-S's around the house for audio...they sound phenomenal and only run
$125 a piece. get a guy to drop them in for a less than $100 and you'll be completely satisfied, plus have a clean setup. they also make some lower priced, but awesome, bookshelf speakers.
check out the 1400 series. i think that would be best in that room.
they make a good sound bar, too.
