You can never have a fresh BMW for 4 years, not even a E90 330i. BMW models have a production cycle of 7 years. After the half there's mostly a facelift. So the maximum you can get is 3 and a half years. If you're taking the E92/93 M3 asap, you've got a fresh car for 2 and a half year, then the facelift takes place. But that doesn't affect the M cars to much traditionally.
With the E90 M3 you can get the full 3 1/2 years, with the E92/93 aswell if you wait till the facelift. So everything's right IMO, everybody can decide for him-/herself what's the best moment to get a new M.
