I'm not an Audi fan at all, but I do like how their S5 is going to be released near simultaneously with their A5, with the RS5 coming shortly thereafter.
By the time the M3 sedan hits the market, the current 3 series design will have been in the public domain for at least 3 years.

This is the first time that Audi does it that way. Remember the last RS6 and the former RS4, both models were launched almost in the last year of the production of the regular A4/A6 series. And I doubt the RS5 will be coming out shortly thereafter...
The M3 Coupe comes out a year after the launch of the base E92.
The M3 Convertible is aswell only a year behind the E93 introduction.
BMW allegedly had plans to start this M3 series with the E90 sedan, but then decided to "wait" for the true M3, the E92. Going that way BMW has to wait till the facelift of the E90 with the M3 sedan introduction...
