This thread is starting to suck now. It is funny how many misinformed people post as if they actually knew what they were talking about.
Audi higher priced than BMW? Really? Not here in VA/DC.
To insinuate that BMW some how sold out in the US in order to gain market share is plain ridiculous? It's called demand and economy of scales.
Additionally, last time I checked, Audi is below BMW and Mercedes in terms of prestige and several other factors. Granted, they have nice interiors but so do Infiniti and Lexus. In order for them to compete and try to gain market share from BMW, they must give the consumer more bang for the buck.
Acura competes with Infiniti
Infiniti competes with Lexus
Lexus competes with Mercedes and BMW
BMW and Mercedes compete against each other
...and Audi, is somewhere in between but with no real hold on the market.
Again, price reflects the economy of scale.
