I have both and they are both great!!!..but for you I got to go with the XBOX 360...you'll love the online experience and the sport titles to go with it..but looking to the future the PS3 is going to dominate in every category almost because of the potential that just hasn't been totally unlocked..but by that time maybe you can run it by your wife again and pick one up for probably cheaper than it is now...360...go get one!
