I have been a few times for work. The driving in Manila is crazy. For example, if there is a lane merge then other drivers make 4-5 lanes to merge into that single lane during rush hour. So hire a driver rather than self-drive. The communal taxi (or Jeepny as it is also known) can be a hot bed of theft and sexual harassment. So it’s not advisable for women to travel alone on those. Manila has a revolving restaurant which is awesome. Seoul Sky 100 revolving restaurant. Tagaytay was wonderful. There is an active volcano. The second most active IIRC. There are a couple of nice garden restaurants there too. Alfonso is a beautiful village near Tagaytay. There is a lovely restaurant there called Sonya’s Garden. It’s worth a visit. The tourist spots are generally safe. The jungle areas are overrun by felons and best avoided. Some nice fishing spots near Tagaytay if you’re into fishing. People are generally friendly there as well. There are plenty of islands and beaches. The food is quite nice. The mangoes are to die for if you like mangoes. My trips were in 2015 and 2018.
