Congrats for posting the most inexperienced narrow-minded BMW propaganda comments of the year. Horsepower is great for racing but is generally agree to be useless compared to torque when it's normal driving which everyone of us does 99% of the time.
You may feel that you would prefer an engine with 100hp/ltr but only make 60ft/lbs from that same litre but I bet the majority of people would feel happier with less power and more torque. I think your lack of experience with hi-performance diesels is clouding your judgement but if you had sampled a 335d you would see and feel the important of torque.
