For your area of the country, PS4S are great tires for the rain as well (much better than PSS). Keep in mind that you can get tires that last longer but the compound will be harder and will not ride as good. Another item to keep in mind, when I look to buy a used car I will ALWAYS look at the tires on it. If they are cheap tires, it's a good indicator the owner is cutting corners elsewhere as well. If you want to save a few dollars, there will be some black Friday sales coming up from Discount Tire and maybe Tire Rack.
