I forgot to add if you haven't replaced your cooling system and you're over/close to 100K replace those too. You don't want you thermostat/water pump to fail and overheat the engine.
The water pump propellers on these engines are fucking plastic just like all bmws. They are a time bomb waiting to shatter to pieces!!
I would go with an aftermarket WP with metal propellers like this
