If you don't consider Geico's mechanical breakdown. I got mine for $72 a year (IF I remember correctly) for 7 years/100k miles with $250 deductible covering everything but "consumable" type items. The only caveat is that you need to purchase it during the first 15months/15k miles of the car's purchase. It runs concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty, so you pay a bit extra-but it does give piece of mind for those times when BMW tries to wiggle out of paying on the warranty.

$500 for a 7 year/100k warranty didn't seem like a bad deal, especially when you don't have USAA.
