I started experimenting with a kit, and spent about 15 hours total before getting stuck at the wiring portion of the installation. The instructions for the three wires that tap in for power, K-CAN-High and K-CAN-Low is incorrectly described in the installation guide (attached), as the fuse slot for the power wire doesn't exist, and the K-CAN wire colors do not match up as the installation guide suggests.
I've written about my installation struggles on the E90 forums, but I think I should be asking other M3 folks since I'm thinking perhaps the 2011+ M3's have a different style junction box altogether that's giving me these headaches.

For all E9X models manufactured after 3/09, if the alarm was not specified during ordering - the prewiring is not in place.
