Wheel dynos are notorious for reading high. The ONLY way to get a true engine HP is to remove the engine and put it on a real dyno.
I've spoken to Katech at length about dynos (they build the race engines for the Covette Racing Team). I told them that I've seen engines making 525 - 535hp stock (445 whp on the dyno). The engines are rated at 505hp.
He told me that the only way to truely get a hp is on a real dyno. You can "test" before and after mods to help get an idea of the hp you added, but that's it.
They had put dozens of LS7 engines on the dyno and they all made very near to 505hp.
