Having owned an Exige, I can say that it's a great car for a month but it's fiberglass construction makes it FAR too fragile for the real world. I would go for the S2000 as it's more reliable and usable and MUCH more economical.
Also, you're looking at a 2004 Lotus. The Elise became available in the US in 2005 and the Exige was 2006.
