We really liked the BMW recommended Kings Hotel 4-star (they also have 3-star somewhere else). I can't comment on that Marriott, but Kings is about 5 minute walk to the U-bahn station and then about 15-20 minute ride to Welt. If you are exploring the center of the city, you should try to stay closer to the center, Welt is kinda on the outskirts. There is a very nice beer garden about 20 minute walk from Kings hotel.
