Just to give you a sense of CA pricing, I just switched from Virginia to CA (SF Bay area). Same insurer, same coverage, same everything, my premiums jumped 2.5x!

Which highlights why these threads are meaningless. Without real details on location (actual zip codes), income, credit score and actual coverage amounts (not just "max") among other factors, there is no real way to compare insurance rates...
I live in Orleans parish, go three miles as the crow flies to Jefferson parish and I would likely pay 30%-40% less for liability coverage alone. And liability is the biggest cost in insurance, not the actual cost to repair the car.
