They were scared, untrained civilians. Big black guy is scary. Like Kensta said, some people don't want to risk their lives or get their face smashed in. What IS pathetic though is they were all sitting t here watching in horror. Like a deer in headlights. The very least they could do is step out of the store, call for help from more able people and police.
