As tl_boy already said, if what you are attempting to email is an html document, note that html documents do not hold any image files. html files only redirect image sources. With that said, the image has to be stored on an online server.
So, you should follow tl_boy's recommendations of just emailing attachments of .doc or .pdf files if you wish to send emails containing fancy images. Otherwise, edit the <img src="/blah/blah.jpg"> tag in the HTML code to <img src="http://www.youronlinewebsite.com/image.jpg">.
