Opinions Wanted - EDC Malfunction

Guys,

I got an EDC malfunction warning light and the dealer quoted $1,100 to replace the control module. Without replacing the module, the suspension remains in the stiffest setting, which I don't mind at all.

I plan to get the F80 M3/M4 next year and intend to convert The E92 into a track car. This plan is certainly not set in stone.

So, here are my choices:

1) Spend $1100 and replace the module. I can afford to do this, but wonder if it would make sense if I plan to upgrade the system soon anyway.

2) Spend $X to replace the stock EDC system with a coilover system immediately.

3) Drive as is and wait till F80 M3's launch to decide. As per my knowledge, aside from being in the stiffest setting, there is no drawback to leaving the system as is.

I appreciate your inputs.

Thank you.
