The anticipation for the odometer to reach 1,200 miles heightened by each and every service van that passed me during the recent ED. Here, on my way from Munich to Regensburg, I avoided a slower truck and nearly got run over doing 105 mph before getting back into the slow lane. Even the slow lane wasn't slow enough for the 5,500 rpm/105 mph limit.
I found that the best time was
off the autobahn; on the empty country and twisting forested roads between villages anyway...
