I really think the Pistons over the Lakers, repeat of 2004. However, the series will be much closer. With the talent so close in the West, coaching and intangibles will probably play a bigger factor. L.A. has the coaching, and the intangibles--Kobe Bryant who with or without a bad pinky is the best closer in the NBA. Plus, they dumped their two biggest liabilities from last year: Smush Parker and Kwame Brown. (In my opinion, Smush Parker's poor play was the biggest factor in the Lakers losing the series to Phoenix.)

In the East, besides Boston, there is no one in the East that can compete with Detroit. Also, concerning Boston, there's not much precedence for a terrible team--i.e. last year's Celtics--making it to the Finals the next year. The Wizards may have Arenas back, but it's hard to believe he'd be at 100%.

On the other hand, I thought the Pistons would win it last year. I wouldn't bet on any team to win it right now.
